The hi-end notebook that loved Linux


Lenovo has launched a new ultra-powerful notebook model, the ThinkPad T61p, which supports major commercial Linux distributions.

Especially designed for 3D graphic design and modeling applications, the T61p is the “workstation” version of the T61 and, according to the manufacturer, it is his most powerful notebook. The system uses the Centrino Pro wireless platform, a graphics chip from Nvidia’s Quadro FX series and up to 4GB of DDR2 memory.

The notebook can be ordered with the desktop Linux distributions of Novell, Red Hat and Turbo Linux, and among the options there are also Windows XP and Vista. The price of the computer starts at $ 1,833.
