SaGa Frontier Remastered announced for PC, mobile devices, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in 2021

SaGa Frontier Remastered announced for PC, mobile devices, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in 2021

Square Enix announced SaGa Frontier Remastered, which is a remastering of the original PlayStation game released in 1997 in Japan. Unlike the original game that was only released on the original PlayStation, the remastered title will be released on PC, mobile devices, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.

Along with the announcement, a 90-minute trailer showcased the title characters along with new versions of their sprites. The game will contain different stories and characters for each unique protagonist.

In terms of graphics, the game will have HD remastered images that will give it new life. Square Enix has also announced a new “high speed feature” for more engaging gameplay.

Frontier Saga brings back all seven characters with a character eight named Fuse, which is short for “Crazy Fuse.” The character was originally scheduled to release with the original title, but due to time constraints, it was removed. Players can now experience Fuse, along with all previously cut content, in the remastered version of the game.

Each character has different purposes and endings, which gives the title a lot of replayability. The choices that the players make will be played using the free-form scenario system. This allows players to create their own story.

Asellus, T260G, Blue, Amelia, Lute, Red, and Riki are making a comeback. Players of the original title may think they are familiar with their individual stories, but the remastered version will include trimmed content. There is much more to learn about these characters and the motivations behind their travels.

In battles, players will use the “glow” and learn new skills. They include the ability to launch consecutive special attacks from multiple team members, giving players the upper hand in battle.

The title will only contain text in English and Japanese. There are no plans to localize the title to other languages.

Those who want to learn more about the game can follow Square Enix on social media or subscribe to its official YouTube account. The developer said that there will be more news soon, so these platforms will be the first places where announcements are made. The game is still in development and more trailers may be released in the future before next summer.

SaGa Frontier remastered will launch on PC, iOS, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 in Summer 2021.
