Switching between Metro and the Windows desktop can be a bit unnerving, and many Windows 8 users aren’t that thrilled about the new Metro-style environment, either. So why not skip the Start screen when you log in and go straight to the Windows desktop without the need for additional or complicated tools?system settings? It’s very simple, just follow the steps below to learn this quick tip:

1.Make sure that Work area the part is in the first group of parts and it is also the first (top left corner just below Get Started) and restart your Windows PC.

2. On the login screen, enter your password and NO press Log in or click Arrow button. Instead, what you want to do here is press and hold the Log in wrench.

Note: Remember that for a moment the Start screen may be visible, but don’t worry, when you press and hold the Enter key, the Start screen will jump directly to the desktop.

Another way to do almost the same thing is to move the Work area tile to the first tile, like I mentioned before, and as soon as you log in, just hit Log in. When you do this, Windows 8, by default, launches the first tile on the Start screen.

And that’s all there is to it. You simply bypassed Metro to go directly to the Windows desktop environment without any system configuration or additional software installation.
