E-Ten presents three new smartphones

Two new PDA-phones arrive fresh from E-Ten that seem designed to erode market share for products like RIM’s – the famous Blackberry and HTC. The two new entries are part of the Glofiish range and are called X500, M700 and X800.

X500 is a GSM / GPRS Quadband that has the Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system on board which “runs” on the X-Scale 400 MHz processor. It has an integrated satellite antenna (SiRF Star III internal chipset with TMC function support) and two buttons for quick access to Pocket Pc applications.

The 240 × 320 TFT-LCD display has 65 thousand colors, the internal memory is 128MB Flash ROM / 64MB SDRAM, but it is expandable thanks to a Micro SD card slot. There is no shortage of the 2 Megapixel internal camera with flash, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, support for AMR, AWB, MIDI, MMF, RMI, AAC, 3GP, AVI, and 192 polyphonic ringtones MIDI, WAV, MP3, WMA, AMR, AWB, MMF, RMI, AAC. Its retail price is 539 euros.

The new M700 (pictured) sports the same features of the X500, but in addition it can boast a QWERTY keyboard and Direct Push technology, which allows the user to manage their e-mail account even on the move. The Glofiish M700 costs 589 euros (VAT included).

The X800 model is instead a 3G terminal equipped with a VGA touchscreen display, to which E-ten has added a dual 2 Megapixel camera for photos, VGA for video calling the interlocutor. Here is also Windows Mobile 6, with which you will manage the various functions offered by the device, which boasts UMTS and HSDPA connectivity, in addition to the “usual” Bluetooth and WiFi. The X800 is also expected on the Italian market, within a few weeks, but the price has not yet been communicated.
