If you’ve already signed up for early access to the upcoming Microsoft Project xCloud game streaming service and were selected, your wait is over. Starting on October 14, 2019, Microsoft will officially launch its game streaming service as a preview for Xbox users in the United States, United Kingdom, and Korea.
As part of the pre-release period, Microsoft is making a limited number of games available for streaming, including Gears 5, Halo 5: Guardians, Sea of Thieves, and Killer Instinct.
According to the company, the public preview is a critical phase in the multi-year ambition to make game streaming available globally. “It’s time to put Project xCloud to the test in a broader capacity, with a variety of players, devices, network environments, and real-world use case scenarios, and that’s where you come in,” Director of Game Programming La Microsoft’s Xbox Live network, Larry Hryb says in official announcement.
If you haven’t signed up yet, it’s time to do so, as the company will continue to send out invitations for weeks to come.
Before registering, consider that there are some requirements. First, you will need a 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection (or at least a 10 Mbps mobile connection), an Xbox controller with Bluetooth, an Android phone with version 6.0 or higher of the mobile operating system. Additionally, you will need to install and configure the Xbox Game Streaming app.
You can find instructions for registering in this guide.
