Skype’s mobile is here
As anticipated at the beginning of October, Skype is ready to enter the world of mobile telephony with its own mobile phone that promises to offer the same functions on the move as the client solution already used on computers.
Businessweek explains that the agreement signed with Hutchison Wampoa, which also includes 3 UK and TRE, will lead to the introduction of the Skype Mobile Phone in Great Britain and Italy, in fact, but also in Hong Kong and Australia.
On the Skype mobile phone, a key will pop up between the keyboard and the display to open the application. Operation will be guaranteed by the iSkoot application, already integrated into TRE’s X-Series offer and which probably – as VoIPBlog also notes – given its validity, made Skype abandon the project of developing its own client for mobile devices.
