New Wireless-N router from Linksys

Milan – Linksys announces the availability of the new Wireless-N WRT150N router, a “home” solution that aims to solve the needs of connectivity and sharing of resources within a “home” network or a small office.

The equipment includes a Wireless-N access point (draft 802.11n), a 4-port 10/100 full-duplex switch and a router. All this allows a high-speed Internet connection and “coverage – explains the company – up to 4 times higher than the Wireless-G technology, if used with a Wireless-N client”.

“Thanks to Wireless-N technology – explains Linksys in describing the features of the router – it is ideal for media-centric applications, such as data sharing, video streaming, online games and VoIP, even used simultaneously”. The WRT150N has been certified by the WiFi Alliance for the WiFi Multimedia (WMMTM) standard, a technology that allows you to prioritize traffic requests from different applications.

Capable of encrypting all wireless transmissions using a 256-bit WPA2 encryption system, the router allows for easy installation and configuration via a web-based configuration utility. Furthermore, the WRT150N can be used as a DHCP server, and there is no lack of an integrated SPI firewall.

The WRT150N will be available from June at the recommended price of 129 euros including VAT.
