Mobile phones, Microsoft aims for voice search

Rome – Microsoft is working on an application that could enhance its mobile platform and, at the same time, attract new users to its web search service. It is a technology that will allow Windows Mobile smartphone users to search for terms and phrases using their voice.

The existence of the project was revealed by a CAB file containing a private beta (theoretically intended for internal use) of the speech recognition application. Boygeniusreport.com declares that such program interfaces with the Windows Live Search service and accepts voice commands via Blutooth or microphone.

In addition to allowing voice searches on the web, the application will also allow you to dictate the words to be entered in any text field contained within a web page, as an authentication and registration form.

More details on the program are reported here from msmobiles.com, which also publishes a link to download the CAB file from a Windows Mobile device.
