Turin – The Piedmont Region is launching an experiment on 30 members of the Italian Czech Union, the association that collaborated in the Easy Walk project, an environment defined as “remote assistance” and designed to allow those who cannot see to move with fewer problems thanks the use of mobile phones equipped with a GPS receiver.

Using the keys on the enabled devices it is possible to be followed by an operator while moving or to receive specific information on “pedestrian mobility”. The system also includes an emergency system capable of alerting rescuers and families in case of need.

“This – said the president of the Piedmont Region Mercedes Bresso – is the latest in a series of projects developed to ensure a better quality of life for the weakest sections of the population, putting technology at their service”.
