A new HP smartphone is coming
Rome – The interest in mobile telephony is increasing, even by those who do not deal with it by main vocation. And this also applies to one of the world’s largest computer manufacturers: for days rumors and photos have been running around on the net concerning a new smartphone prototype made by HP.
To act as a sounding board for the news, which circulates in various blogs and portals, is the iPaqHQ.com community, which brings together users of HP iPAQ products. In fact, planned for inclusion in the iPaq range, the new model should be called rw4500.
From the images in circulation, which would label the phone as a product marketed by T-Mobile, the device shows to have a certain similarity, perhaps due to hardware and software inbreeding, with HTC Feeler, Qtek 8020 and iMate SP3i.
The prototype, currently being tested and which should be the prelude to a serial product, is equipped with Windows Mobile 5.0, 320 × 240 pixel TFT display with 65 thousand colors, 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. Fi. The memory will be expandable with miniSD cards.
This is not the first foray into the world of cellular telephony by HP, which currently includes among its products the PocketPC hw6515, which supports GSM / GPRS / EDGE, and h6340 with GSM / GPRS technology.
It is not known whether it is a 3G device but, compared to its HP brothers, the new rw4500 seems much less “handheld” and more “mobile” and suggests an expansion of the iPaq range towards lower and more affordable market profiles.
